Wellness and Reablement Program
In 2020 TransCare begun running a Wellness and Reablement Program as part of the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) Innovation Fund.
The focus of the free program is to provide education and personal development opportunities for our CHSP clients within in the Muswellbrook Shire Council and Upper Hunter Shire Council areas. The sessions cover a range of topics and are delivered on a fortnightly rotation in 6 towns including Aberdeen, Denman, Merriwa, Murrurundi, Muswellbrook, and Scone.
By engaging high quality, qualified and experienced presenters we are able to provide holistic workshops and presentations that are reflective of the needs and interests of our local clients. Examples of the topics that are covered include food and nutrition, mental wellbeing, assistive aids, legal matters, occupational therapy, gardening during drought, music therapy, art as therapy, technology in the home and more.
Clients are able to choose what workshops they are interested in as there is no need to take part in all the topics.
These fortnightly free workshops are a great opportunity to get out in the community and learn something new while enjoying the company of peers. A light lunch and refreshments are included at the workshops.
Advance bookings are essential and can be made by calling Kate on 6545 3113 and selecting 6 at the switch.
