Ridgelands community supports seniors expo

TransCare’s Muswellbrook Seniors Expos has received a major boost with support from the Ridgelands Community Fund Community Investment Committee (RCFCIC). The Muswellbrook Seniors Expo will be held for the second time on the 9th of November 2018 after the successful staging of the inaugural event in 2017.

The aim of the TransCare Seniors Expo is to bring together local community services and groups for a one-stop-shop which provides information to seniors from the Upper Hunter region.

“This support from the Ridgelands Community Fund will allow us to promote the TransCare Muswellbrook Seniors Expo to reach as many people as possible that will benefit from the event,” Jemma Anshaw, TransCare promotions officer said.

“These events are not just for seniors, we encourage family members and friends to come along and get information for other members of the community who need it. In attendance we will have everything from community groups that offer social activities, businesses that provide services and a range of information on a number of topics.”

The Muswellbrook RSL Club is hosting the event again this year and there has already been strong interest from organisations that attended in 2017 to have another display.

“This has increased our ability to reach a broader section of the Muswellbrook community who use and need our services during the month we celebrate 30 years in the Upper Hunter Community,” Penelope Fenley, acting chairperson, TransCare Hunter Limited Board of Directors said.
