"Volunteers make the difference"
Volunteering has a positive affect on our attitudes and morale, it brings a sense of well-being and harmony to our lives and is the most rewarding way of giving back to the community.
Volunteering is also fun so put a smile back on your face and a spring back in your step!!!
By helping someone who needs you.
As little as 1 hour a week can help someone in need.
- A phone call in the morning to a client (Telecare).
- Escorting someone shopping, including paying bills, grocery shopping for a client.
- Shopping with a list for someone who just cannot get to the shops.
- Transport to local medical practitioners and return.
- Bus Carer.
- Companionship, having a cup of tea with someone and a chat.
- Meals on Wheels delivery every Thursday

Volunteer Of The Month
It is not always possible to thank our volunteers individually so TransCare would like to pay tribute to all our volunteers for their dedication and hard work through out the years.
Show me a person who spends endless hours in training without pay, And, I'll show you a volunteer.
Show me a person where a cry for help brings split-second dispatch, And, I'll show you a volunteer.
Show me a person who is devastated when lives are lost or maimed, And, I'll show you a volunteer.
Show me a person who is graciously welcomed as a next-door neighbour, And, I'll show you a volunteer.
Show me a person who takes ridicule more than compliments, And, I'll show you a volunteer.
Show me a person whose car is garaged with the grille facing out, And, I'll show you a volunteer.
Show me a person who sacrifices home life, TV... even tender moments, And, I'll show you a volunteer.
Show me a person visibly moved at the strains of our National Anthem, And, I'll show you a volunteer.
Show me a person who may be asked to give more than just dedication, And, I'll show you a volunteer.
Show me a person who is asked to give more... and more... and more, And, I'll show you a volunteer.
Many will be shocked to find the day of judgements nears,
That there’s a special place in heaven set aside for volunteers;
Furnished with big recliners, satin couches and footstools,
Where there’s no committee chairman, no group leaders or car pools.
No eager team that needs a coach, no bazaar and no bake sale,
There will be nothing to staple, not one thing to fold and mail,
Telephone lists will be outlawed....but...a finger snap will bring
Cool drinks and gourmet dinners and rare treats fit for a king or queen.
You ask who’ll serve those privileged few and work for all they’re worth?
Why, all those who reaped the benefits and not once volunteered on earth.
